The leadership of the Board of Trustees, Elders in Council and the Imo State Government represented by the Commissioner for Non-Formal Sector/Market Development, Hon.Lady Joy Mbawuike have inaugurated the newly elected executive members of the Imo Auto-Mobile Dealers Association.

The elected executives will pilot the affairs of the Union in the next three years.

The new executives  described the election as the most credible, free and fair election exercise ever witnessed in the automobile community since over 25 years of the existence.

Performing the swearing-in ceremony, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association, Chief Sir.Rufus Osueke commended the out going President,Chief Jude Nwawuiheand his outgoing executives for their  achievements while in office.

In his valedictory speech, the outgoing President, Chief Nnawuihe,said he is  delighted to handover the mantle of leadership to a successor whom he believed would continue from where he stopped in the development and general welfare of all the members of the union.

Giving account of his stewardship, Nanwuihe described the challenges confronting the union as very enormous but thanked God who gave him the strength,wisdom and understanding for conquering the turbulent storm.

The newly elected President, Mr.Amadi in his inaugural speech expressed satisfaction to be elected as people’s choice.He described his victory as freedom to the entire Automobile Community just as he vowed to restructure the system in his capacity  to strengthen the union.

President Amadi shortly after his official inauguration, also sworn-in the Taskforce Committee members led by the Chairman, Mr.Sunday Godwin Ezenwaegbu,with his members and charged them to duties.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hon.Ken A.Njoku expressed gratitude to God for giving him and the Electoral committee for the  wisdom to conduct the election exercise which he described as a herculean task, stating that such election could be successful with an experience person who have the fear of God.

Other members odf the 5-man- electoral committee members which include:the Secretary, Mr.Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Udenwu, two other members, Mr.Augustus Nwogu Amamchukwu and Mr.Ikechukwu Charles Osundu Egbuchulem, collectively expressed delight and satisfaction with the high level of sincerity and truth they portrayed during and after the whole exercise.

Udenwu said ” I have been into the business for over 20 years as a member of the union”.

“We succeeded because we are very capable and could be able to compromise and as such we were able to offer the most credible polls for the progressiveness of the union in particular” he said

He noted that over 194 members officially participated during the exercise.
