The Exco led by Acting Chairman, Chris Oguoma had embarked on the sale of nomination forms for aspirants vying for chairmanship and councillorship positions.

According to sources, more than 105 party members who declared interest in the local government election purchased nomination forms for the Chairmanship seats  with another 700 aspirants obtaining forms for councillorship positions.

Oguoma was quoted by online reports that more aspirants would have purchased forms if not for the internal bickering in the party and in some areas mock primaries were held by party leaders to select candidates.

The APC in Imo State had split into two with the “Allied Forces” calling the  shots after winning the party congress from the ward to the State levels.

They had raised an alarm urging aspirants in the party to cease from buying forms from the Oguoma State Exco.

Governor Rochas Okorocha who rejected the outcome of the  congress on the grounds that such exercise never took place went ahead to constitute a parallel State Executive of the party in Imo State.

Mr. Hillary Eke was elected at the State Congress as State Chairman of the APC in Imo State and was sworn in alongside 35 others by the National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun early this week.
