Oduah was the Minister for Aviation under President Goodluck Jonathan and joined the Senate in 2015 on the platform of the PDP.

Oduah decamped to APGA today in an event witnessed by APGA chieftains in the South East namely National Secretary, Labaran Maku, National Publicity Secretary, Henry Okolie Aboh. Others in attendance include National Assembly members of the party, Senator Victor Umeh, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, Hon Gabriel Onyenwife, Hon Ben Nwankwo and others.

The Senator’s move to APGA according to sources may lead to a floodgate of more defections of high profile politicians to the party mainly from two States- Anambra and Imo- where the party seems to have considerable foothold.

A top party official told this newspaper on condition of anonymity that there will be more defections of top politicians from the PDP, the APC and other political parties to APGA in the days to come

“So many top politicians in the region will join the party and we are confident that APGA provides the right platform for them. Some of them have engaged in exploratory talks with the party which has continued to grow in leaps and bounds in the South East zone” he said

A former Governor in one of the South East States and a member of the PDP has been speculated to be heading to APGA to further his governorship ambition.

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha who has been having turbulent times in the APC was rumoured to be interested in rejoining APGA that provided the political platform that catapulted him to Government House, Owerri in 2011. APGA denied the move.

More top politicians, according to sources, are alleged to be involved in “exploratory talks”  of joining APGA which has continuously grown in leaps and bounds in the South East region.
