More governorship aspirants are joining the race for Government House, Owerri in 2019.

The latest is Owerri municipal born radical surgeon and whistle-blower Dr. Phillip Njemanze. He has already pitched his political tenth with the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, a platform he hopes will actualize his governorship ambition

Njemanze will easily be remembered for his numerous whistle blowing activities. He was the man that blew open a law which tend to encourage abortion in Imo State.

His exposure compelled the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha to approach the Imo State House of Assembly to seek an amendment to the law. The House complied.

Njemanze had also kicked against plans to encourage bio tech foods and crops into Nigeria, an alarm which attracted the attention of the Federal Government.

In a release, the radical surgeon promised to ensure prompt payment of salaries of workers, pensions of pensioners and also ensure contracts entered into by the State Government are adhered to.

He said if elected Governor, he will also implement the minimum wage , assuring that jobs for 25,000 jobless youths will be created.

He assured that victims of Eke Ukwu Owerri market, Mechanic village and New market will be adequately compensated.
