The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is a political party founded by the legendary Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
At the time of its formation, registration and approval in 2006, Dim Ojukwu, Ikemba Nnewi told Ndigbo and by extension Biafrans that APGA became necessary to give Ndigbo a political platform on which they can negotiate ebulliently over national affairs. This germane aim and objective must have been framed on the existence of Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba having identifiable party respectively. For instance, in 2006, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was regarded as a Hausa-Fulani party while Alliance for Democracy (AD) was regarded as a Yoruba party. Hence, Ndigbo needed a unique Igbo party. That was one significant justification for the creation of APGA.
Sadly, twelve years after the coming of APGA, Ndigbo still do not have a party to call their own as the Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba have. In the beginning of APGA, the party swiftly posted two remarkable victories in Anambra and Imo States. That was as at 2011. The hope was that gradually, the entire five states in the south East geo-political zone, domiciled by core Ndigbo will become APGA states. It was hoped that from there other states now in the South- South geo-political zone, that are part of Biafra, will also become APGA states as the years passed.
But as I write, Anambra is the only APGA state in Nigeria after the party lost Imo to APC in 2013. This has earned APGA a new uncomplimentary meaning of Anambra Peoples Grand Alliance.
And for some time now, another school of thought had described APGA as Awusa Peoples Grand Alliance. This must not be unconnected with the recent pen declaration by the so-called national leadership of APGA that APGA has entered an alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure the re-election of the increasingly unpopular incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
In other words, APGA has adopted Buhari as APGA presidential candidate in the 2019 general election. This has made some political pundits of Igbo extraction to predict that in the near future APGA will die an unnatural death to join its founder, Dim Ojukwu at the point of no return in the realm of the abyss.
The inglorious derailment of the dreams and visions of the founding fathers of APGA leaves an admixture of sadness and sorrow. It is annoying that the cheats in APGA debase the legendary image of Ojukwu by tagging his image and likeness to their infamous and weird images on their campaign vehicles.
In 2015 I saw that voice of Ojukwu and the hands of Ifeajuna. Now, as we approach 2019 and the shameless hawks still use the face of Ojukwu as their only unique selling point, I am adequately led to see the wicked act as the politics of Ojukwu and the antics of Ifeajuna.
For the benefit of younger readers, the Ifeajuna I refer to here is Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna, who by historical Biafran reports was killed by firing squad after he was convicted of betraying Biafra and attempting a coup against Ojukwu, the Biafran President at the time.
It is a gross abuse by APGA and any APGA leader or member for any reason to still soil and desecrate the image and visage of Ojukwu after shaming him post-humously by engaging in acts of whoredom with APC which he would never have condoned in his lifetime.
Incidentally, today, even Ojukwu’s look-alike first son and his namesake have decamped to APC alongside his father’s APGA that has become a non-visible member of APC. The question APGA leaders and members as well as Ojukwu Jnr must answer now is: If Ojukwu were still in this realm, would he have anything to do with APC? Any affirmative answer to that must be from a lying liar member of the noxious Association of Pathological Criminals (APC). Truth is that nothing on earth would have made Ojukwu join APC. Otherwise, he would easily pass as the world’s worst traitor.
The argument that had always wanted to take Igbo to the center of Nigeria’s politics is a very rude insult and a braze exercise in shameless lying. The suggestion that Ojukwu joined the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) on his return from exile in 1982 is also a beggarly ruse. Truth is Ojukwu saved Ndigbo and Biafra by dragging them out of the deadly centre in 1967. He could not have deliberately for any reason planned to drag Ndigbo and Biafra back to that terror and horror centre when so many issues he fought against are still till date yet to be resolved. In 1982, Ojukwu must have made the wisest choice by accepting to join NPN so as not to jeopardize the plans for his return to Nigeria.
Let it notb e forgotten that it was the same Fulani oligarchs that facilitated his return that ensured he never won a common senatorial election under NPN when Dr. Onwudiwe, the Nigeria Peoples Party (NPP) candidate that not surprisingly defeated him.
Then also, if the centre was so necessary and important to Ndigbo and Biafra, why did Ikemba decide to create APGA as an Igbo party in 2006 when he could have easily dragged Ndigbo and Biafra into PDP that was the party at the centre at that time? It is too bad that people tell lies against the dead which they would not have dared were he to be alive. How I wish the spirit of Ojukwu will go into action and silence all peddlers of wicked lies against his great person. Yet, my sincere prayer has remained, may the great soul of Ojukwu continue to rest in peace.
Therefore, let nobody go further in dragging the good name of Ojukwu in the muddy politics of APGA. Death has done APGA apart. Let all that paste his image and likeness on their campaign vehicles and other related campaign materials remove Ojukwu’s face and keep his cock to continually keep crowing against them for betraying him.
This is of greater relevance in Imo State where in 2011 APGA dethroned the ruling PDP through a gatecrasher named Owelle Rochas Okorocha. But about two years after, in 2013, Okorocha tore out APGA and dragged it to APC. That way APGA lost Imo till today. If that was an act of Ifeajuna, what about the declaration recently that APGA is in alliance with APC? That is the highest of betrayals, second only to the betrayal of Jesus Christ by Judas Iscariot!
