The authorities of Imo State University, Owerri has said it is not true that tuition of students in the institution have been increased.
An Owerri based journalist, Mr.Kelechi Ugo writes that the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Adaobi Obasi disowned a memorandum circulating that the university has directed 500 level students to pay N92, 500 each as tuition fee which was signed by one Mrs Rose-kate Ogbu and allegedly copied to VC office and HOD of Nursing Science.
Prof.Obasi said the school authorities has never asked any dime as tuition fee maintaining that the present rescue mission government in Imo State led by GovernorRochas Okorocha is not leaving any stone un-turned by paying #100,000 as tuition fee for each Imo indigenous students.
The University don made it clear that indigenous students are expected to pay N19,500 with bank draft as ancillary charge.
Mrs Obasi warned parents and guardians not to be deceived as free education is on the course in Imo State thanking Governor Okorocha for his frequent and timely release of subventions to Imo State University.
