Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Uche Nwosu has denied reports in the social media that he said Owerrri zone is not good enough for the governorship of the State.
Nwosu who is a governorship aspirant in the All Progressive Congress was quoted in the social media to have said the Zone is good for Speakership and not governorship of the State. should settle for Speakership of the House of Assembly.
He was said to have made the statement in London after receiving an award from the British House of Parliament.
In a statement signed by Vivien Onwuka, PRO to the Chief of Staff, she described the statement as a malicious rumour, a fabricated story with no iota of truth.
Nwosu said he never made such comment, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers who have made several futile efforts to malign him just because of his governorship ambition.

Nwosu made it clear that no such meeting with Imo people living in the UK held, adding that his purpose for being in the UK was to receive the award which he simply did.
He noted that the wide acceptability of his governorship ambition has been sending cold Shiver to the spines of his opponents, hence the barrage of malicious stories against him.
Nwosu who spoke on the telephone with his Public Relations Officer from London noted that the latest straw that broke the Carmel’s back was the international meritorious award: “African Achievers Award on Youths Empowerment” bestowed on him by the British House of Parliament.
He advised the well meaning people of Imo state who are the driving force of his ambition to as usual disregard the propaganda, having already known the angle it is coming from.
He made it clear that Owerri people are more solidly behind him in his aspiration and that all attempts being made by mischief makers to bring disaffection between them him and the zone will continue to fail.
He reassured the good people of Owerri of his good will and willingness to carry them along in the scheme of things when he becomes the governor, adding that he holds people of the zone in high esteem.
