Imo 2019: Ex Governor, Senator Set To Declare Guber Bid

The 2019 governorship election seem to be attracting more aspirants in the contest.

Despite the alarming number of governorship aspirants in various political parties, this newspaper gathered that there will be two major declarations for the governorship contest before the end of the month of July, 2018.

A former Governor and a senator though in separate political parties are said to have concluded arrangements to officially announce their intentions to the public before July runs out.

One of the contestants is set to announce his new political party latest July 20, 2018 and his commitment to fire on his governorship ambition.

The Senator who recently decamped to another political party is also said to have concluded arrangements to publicly announce his governorship ambition

Since the advent of democracy in 1999, the 2019 governorship election in Imo State has attracted an unprecedented number of governorship aspirants.

At the moment, the State has more than 50 governorship aspirants with the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA leading the chart with more than 30 aspirants.

The wave of declarations is coming on the heels of INEC guidelines which stipulate that political parties should Primaries between August and October.
