The Imo State House of Assembly has served a notice of impeachment to the State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere.
The Notice was served on the number two citizen of the State through substituted meams (publication of newspapers).
The Notice was signed by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon.Acho Ihim and was reportedly pasted at the office of the Deputy Governor.
Madumere had last week said he has not been properly served by the lawmakers.
The Notice came just as supporters of the Deputy Governor took to the streets of Owerri to kick against the impeachment against Madumere.
The protesters condemned the move of the State legislators against Madumere which has continued to attract divided opinion among the Imo populace.
Madumere came in the eye of the storm recently when 13 lawmakers petitioned the Speaker of the House of Assembly alleging gross misconduct against the Deputy Governor.
An ad hoc committee headed by Hon.Kennedy Ibe presented its report to the House after which the Speaker, Acho Ihim directed the State Chief Judge to set up a seven man panel to be made up of men of unquestionable character to investigate the allegations.
The State Deputy Governor sought and obtained an order of a Federal High Court, Abuja which ordered a halt of the impeachment process.
