The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Acho Ihim had directed the State Chief Judge to set up a seven man panel of inquiry to investigate allegations of misconduct leveled against the Deputy Governor.

Madumere had sought and obtained an Order from a Federal High Court in Abuja halting the impeachment process initiated by the State Assembly.

Despite the Court Order, the House of Assembly proceeded with the impeachment process by serving the number two citizen with an impeachment notice which was pasted on the wall of the Deputy Governor’s office.
