A leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Ikeduru/Mbaitoli Federal Constituency, (Mbaike) Comrade Nobleiyke Edoziem has vowed to focus on human development if elected to the green chambers.
Speaking with newsmen in Owerrri, he said past lawmakers of the constituency never paid due attention to their oversight functions, noting that aside the act of lawmaking, a legislator also has the duty to improve on the living conditions of his constituents.
The National Publicity Secretary of MAJA party also said as a youth who lives in his constituency, he posses the know how to uplift the living standard of the people of Mbaike. He stated that the performance of any leader is dependent on how many lives he has influenced positively.
He said “The level of hunger and poverty in the country is very alarming, especially since the APC led administration of Buhari and Okorocha took over in Nigeria and Imo State respectively, as a result, lawmakers shouldn’t go to Abuja and just attend sittings.
“They should be in touch with their constituents and make great efforts to ensure that the monthly allocation accrued to their constituency is judiciously ultilized.
Edoziem continued ”I want to reduce the poverty level of Mbaike constituents. I know what they want as a people. I enjoin people of Mbaike to support me in my quest to give them responsive representation.”
