Recent political developments in the State and in the country may influence some key members of the Imo APC Stakeholders Coalition to join another political party.
With the wave of defections across the country, this newspaper was told that some governorship aspirants in the Coalition may seek political refuge elsewhere.
Also with the reported endorsement of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume as the governorship candidate of the Coalition, some of other aspirants in the fold are said to be contemplating moving to another party.
Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who is facing impeachment threats from the Imo State House of Assembly may be among those to leave the Coalition for another political party to further his governorship ambition.
An online report said Madumere is moving over to the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA. This could not be verified as at press time.
The political moves of Former Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, is also uncertain.
This development is coming on the heels of defections across the country. Yesterday, more than 50 senators of the All Progressive Congress defected to the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.
In Imo State, the Rochas Okorocha faction of the All Progressive Congress, APC, conducted fresh congresses which elected party officers from the ward to the State levels.
The Congress came after an Abuja Federal High Court nullified an earlier congress which favoured the Coalition.
