It was drama in Owerri, Imo State on Monday as the State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere was impeached by the House of Assembly.
The impeachment came despite the Order of the Federal High Court, Owerri that halted the impeachment process.
Madumere was impeached during the plenary presided by the Speaker, Acho Ihim.
In his submission when the matter came up for hearing, counsel to Madumere, Ken Njemanze had said the act of constituting the 7 man panel set up by the Chief Judge to investigate allegations of gross misconduct leveled against the Deputy Governor was illegal.
However, the Court Order did not stop the lawmakers from proceeding in impeaching the Deputy Governor.
