Former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim will any moment from now declare for the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

This newspaper had reported severally in the past that Ohakim will dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for another political party in a move to realize his 2019 governorship ambition. A move some of his aides had persistently denied.

But fresh political developments in the State and in a bid to achieve his ambition after a second attempt in 2015 which did not succeed,  Ohakim is said to have concluded plans  to announce his declaration for his new political party next month.

Since he announced his 2019 governorship ambition to newsmen in Owerri in February 2018, he has been the target of verbal attacks from the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Ohakim’s move to APGA will certainly change the colouration of the governorship contest in APGA where already more than 30 governorship aspirants have officially declared their ambition.

In 2007, Ohakim was elected Governor of Imo State on the platform of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA.

He later decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at an event witnessed by Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri and witnessed by a mammoth crowd.
