Police Disperse Pro Biafra Women Demonstrators In Imo

Some protesting women suspected to be members of the proscribed Independent Peoples Of Biafra demanding the whereabouts of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu were dispersed by the Police on Friday in Owerri.

The women decked in black attire with Biafra insignia such as flags and caps chanted pro Biafra songs, accusing the Federal Government of marginalizing the Biafran people.

Trouble however broke out when the women who had marched to Government House roundabout were fired teargas canisters. The women defied the police action and proceeded with the march. some of them were later arrested.

One of the women who was part of the protest accused the policemen of brutalizing them despite conducting themselves in an orderly manner.
