Following the division in Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, there are now feelers that the two factions in the party will be harmonized.
Also, the process of selecting party candidates for the forthcoming elections may have also changed.
These revelations were made by Senator Hope Uzodinma, senator representing Imo West Senatorial zone while addressing party faithful in Owerri.
He said the party’s governorship candidate would emerge through direct primary election by members of the party. This entails every registered member of the party either in the executive or not is qualified to vote at the Primary election.
He advised those fighting for the soul of the party in the State to sheath their sword and rather focus on mobilizing for the party.
The Senator said a new Congress would be held in the State chapter of the party as a means of resolving the lingering crisis for the party structure between the “Imo APC Coalition” and Governor Rochas Okorocha “Rescue Mission” camp.
On President Buhari’s re- election in 2019, he said the President’s re-election is the surest route for an Igbo Presidency in 2023.
According to him the Igbo should support the president who besides doing well would also make it easy for the South East Zone to clinch presidency in 2023.
