Court Free Detained Pro Biafra Women

An Owerri Magistrate Court has freed over 114 women who were detained for their involvement in a pro Biafra rally in Owerri last week.

The women had engaged in protests on Friday, August 17, 2018 in Owerri. They had demanded the whereabouts of the leader of proscribed IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

They had during the protests were dispersed by the Police and arraigned on Monday, August 20, 2018 on ten count charge ranging from treasonable felony, terrorism and unlawful assembly.

Pictures of the detained women has gone viral on the internet attracting concern from concerned individuals and groups who appealed for their release.
