After deliberations on the mode for primaries, the All Progressive Congress has unveiled dates for its primaries
The decision emanated after the party held its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
The meeting was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and chaired by the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
The following dates were adopted
Presidency: 24th September.
Senate: 26th September.
House of Representatives: 27th September.
Governorship: 29th September.
House of Assembly: 2nd October.
Sale of forms starts on the 1st of September.
This newspaper was informed that Primary Elections into all elective offices shall be by direct or indirect elections or by consensus.
A report sent by this newspaper “The need for indirect or direct primaries shall however depend on the peculiarity and need of a given state.
“In each case the State Executive Committee shall in consultation with critical stakeholders of the party in a given State identify and forward for the consideration and approval by the National Working Committee for the mode of election to be adopted.
