The Federal High Court, Abuja has upheld Congresses held inn the All Progressive Congress, APC on July 20th, 21st and 23rd July, 2018.
The Imo APC Coalition had filed a suit seeking to restore the congresses of 5th, 12th and 19th May, 2018.
In a statement signed by Onwusoanya FCC Jones, Publicity Secretary of Imo APC, he said the ruling affirms that the only congresses of the APC in Imo State, known to law and therefore valid, are the congresses of the 20th, 21st and 23rd July, 2018.
“The Party is as always delighted with the judiciary’s steadfastness in checking political brigandage, corruption and other dangerous vices that threaten Party democracy.
“We reiterate that the Party’s doors are still open to anyone or group who wishes to return to the Party, as long as they are ready to subject themselves to the Constitution and rules of the Party” the statement said.
This development further gives the Okorocha faction an upperhand in the fierce scramble for the soul of the APC in Imo State.
