It does not matter which Political party one belongs. What should be of importance is that we are all Imo Citizens, and an Imo Son or perhaps Daughter must Emerge as our next Governor come 2019.
Granted that we are all Political Animals with specific interests in our Socio-Political environment, we must however ensure that we do not cross the Red Lines when carrying out activities to overzealously please our Interests/Sponsors/Benefactors/Leaders or Platforms.
It is no longer news that many Imo Sons have shown interest in occupying the Governorship seat in 2019. Whether we like it or not, only one person will be SWORN-IN as the governor of the State: hence the mad desire by some of the Aspirants to Blackmail, Attack and indeed constantly throw stones at their fellow Aspirants without telling the Imo Citizens what they would do for the State if given the mandate (or “womandate”, as the case may be) to Govern.
Some of these Governorship Aspirants commit this grave error through their Chief Press Secretaries. I have watched with disbelief how some of these Aspirants have exposed themselves to ridicule, as their Media Aides have thrown caution to the wind while assaulting other candidates of the Guber seat. This irrational behavior of the Aides have brought about myriad of counter attack on their principal by Facebook Media Operatives.
Few days ago, a former Governor of Imo State Dr Ikedi Ohakim was assaulted on Facebook by one Mr Gift Okedinma. Dr Ohakim reacted by reaching out to the Department of State Security, DSS. If not for the prompt intervention of concerned citizens of the State led by this writer, perhaps the DSS would have showcased their madness and “IBERIBERISM” on Mr Gift Okedinma. Yes, the matter has been settled with Mr Okedinma apologising publicly to Ohakim, but the point must be made that governorship aspirants must conduct themselves worthy of the position they are aspiring to occupy.
I say this because hardly had the dust raised by the “near crisis” between Dr Ikedi Ohakim and Gift Okedinma settled than the Chief Press Secretary to Dr Ikedi Ohakim, Mr Collins Chibueze Ughalaa started throwing stones at Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Chief of Staff to the Government of Imo State and a major Contender to the Governorship seat.
At this point, let me say that you do not market your brand by attacking other brands already in the market. If Dr Ohakim is your best, then tell us why he is the best. Do not go about fighting, abusing and attacking Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for no just cause.
UCHE NWOSU has committed no crime to warrant all these incinerating assaults from Collins Chibueze Ughalaa. For the umpteenth records, I am supporting Ugwumba Uche Nwosu for the Imo Governorship seat come 2019. And I have been working assiduously to realize this Ambition without Attacking other Aspirants/Candidates. Uche Nwosu has been going about selling his candidacy for the Guber Seat to the people of Imo State through programs that have continued to spread his crusade for good leadership in the state, and Imo people have continued to endorse his Ambition. He has never attacked anybody, neither has he been found wanting in the discharge of his duty as Chief of Staff. It is therefore “Hugo-mugally” for Dr Ikedi Ohakim to constantly attack Uche Nwosu through his Chief Press Secretary, Collins Chibueze Ughalaa.
Let me digress a bit;
If Ohakim through his Chief Press Secretary attacks Uche Nwosu by saying that Governor Rochas Okorocha appointed his son in-law from another Local Government Area other than that of Okorocha’s as his Chief of Staff, My response will be that Ohakim Appointed his own Blood Brother from the same mother and from the same Local Government Area as his Chief of Staff during his first term in office.
If Ohakim attacks Uche Nwosu saying Okorocha is not supporting EZE MADUMERE, my response will be that Ohakim disgraced his own Deputy Governor, Ada Okwuonu, by picking Professor Viola Onwuliri in the 2011 governorship election.
And so on and so forth
I have used the above two indices to prove that in every action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction. Reprisal Attack is Allowed in Socio-Political, Economic And Cultural circumstances…… Conversely, telling the people of Imo State what you will do for them remains the only Road Maps for Sustainable Socio-Political and Economic Activities without hurting anybody.
Let us practice Politics without Bitterness. It will not make sense if we continue to fight ourselves because of a “Common” Imo GOVERNORSHIP Seat.
Please let us concentrate on what we can do for the people of Imo State than attacking One Another. It does not make sense at all.
It is high time these Governorship Aspirants called their Chief Press Secretaries to order.
Honestly, I will not repeat myself on this issue again.
