A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon.Emeka Ihedioha has promised to run a Government of Unity if elected as Imo State Governor in 2019.

Ihedioha who spoke in Ulakwo in Owerri North Local Government Area said he will inculcate honesty and sincerity in running the affairs of the State.

Ihedioha who was the PDP governorship flag bearer in the 2015 elections said his ongoing consultations across the StateĀ  is a campaign geared towards liberating the State from bad governance.

He promised to give priority to youth development, promising to set up an academy to be run by former Green Eagles star, Henry Nwosu.

“I will set up a football academy headed by the likes of our great sons, Henry Nwosu to ensure we groom our youths who are good in sports to achieve their dreams” he said

In his remarks, a leader of the PDP in Owerri North and one time Commissioner of Police, Nze Ekeocha said Ihedioha is committeed to the task of rebuilding Imo State.

He said the PDP needs someone capable of winning the general elections and fix the State.

“We are aware that this project requires a person of unquestionable character, inteegrity, capability, vast political experience and honest understanding of democratic practice and these qualities are all encompassing in Ihedioha” he said.
