He said he will not leave the governing party having been a founding member.

A statement by Uche Onwuchekwa, Chief Press Secretary to Madumere, he described the insinuation as mischievous and mere figment of the imagination of the conceiver.

Madumere has been in the eye of the storm lately after he was impeached by the Imo State House of Assembly despite a Court Order that halted the impeachment process.

He had fallen out with Governor Rochas Okorocha over the latter’s preference for his son in law and Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu for the 2019 Imo governorship.

Madumere dumped the Governor’s Rescue Mission and pitched his political tenth with opposition forces in Imo APC.He had gone ahead with his governorship ambition and has restated his desire to actualize his ambition on the platform of the APC in Imo State- a party so fragmented and divided at the moment.

According to the statement, he said he is a staunch believer of APC and has religiously contributed to its growth.

“The Deputy Governor of Imo State is a staunch believer of APC and has religiously continued to contribute for its growth, which is a verifiable fact. It is against this background that we warn those behind such cheap blackmail to discontinue such ill-conceived trade. It sticks out like a sore thumb in an intellectual environment like ours.

“While we call on the good people of Imo State, who have been supportive to Prince Madumere’s course even in his darkest hours of temptations, to remain calm, he will always confer with them in any of his critical decisions so as not to jeopardize his cherished relationship and social contract with them.
