Newspaper reports in Owerri say Senator Representing Imo West Senatorial zone, Senator Hope Uzodinma may run for Imo governorship.
Senator Uzodinma had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressive Congress, APC few months ago.
Political pundits had speculated that the Senator may be going for re- election as a Senator representing Imo West.
But indications became clear last week that the Senator may have resolved to rather go for Imo govenorship considering the declaration by Governor Rochas Okorocha that he will settle for Imo West Senatorial seat at the end of his tenure in 2019.
According to reports, signs that he may run for Imo guber manifested at the 2018 New Yam festival of Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.
Teeming supporters of the senator were said to have used the opportunity to call on him to run for the guber race on the grounds that he has the political nerve to challenge Governor Okorocha’s preferred choice for Imo governorship, Chief Uche Nwosu.
The Senator has been silent on the clarion call on him to join the contest though sources said soon he will publicly announce his next line of action as primaries of political parties draw closer.
