The party at the weekend held its ward congresses across the 305 wards in the State  which was devoid of rancour and acrimony.

The party had last week announced free nomination forms for aspirants below 30 years old  which made it the first political party in Nigeria to adhere to the Not Too Young To Run Act.

Also, Physically Challenged Persons and Women are huge beneficiaries of the party’s new policy.

The UPP has been energized in Imo State  since the initiator of the Not Too Young To Run Act, Hon.Tony Nwulu joined the party few months ago where his governorship ambition has sent shivers on the spine of other contenders for the number one job in Imo State.

Nwulu’s entrance into the UPP has also roared the party back to life after it nearly went comatose after losing the 2015 governorship election.

The peaceful nature of the ward Congress across the State is a departure from the rancour, in fighting and  acrimony that usually  hit other political parties when it conducted it’s congresses.

The Mezie Imo Movement, which is Hon Nwulu’s well oiled political structure congratulated their principal for the unique manner he has revived the UPP to become a “big force” in Imo Politics  which has also placed it among the leading political parties in Imo State in  pole position to win the governorship contest and other elective positions in the State in  2019.

It also commended Director General of the Movement, Mr.Kelechi Chukwu for his unrelenting and tireless efforts in steering the Movement to greater heights.
