The Imo State chapter of the Al Progressive Congress, APC has declared there are no anointed candidate(s) for any position.
The party assured of a level playing ground insisting that all aspirants are equal.
According to a statement from the State Publicity Secretary of the party, FCC Onwusoanya Jones, the State Chairman, Daniel Nwafor made the declaration at a meeting with all aspirants in the party in Owerri.
He said“Let me reiterate that all aspirants are equal and enjoy the same rights and chances. The only thing that will determine your success at the primaries is your level of acceptance by Party members and delegates. There is no anointed candidate for any position
The APC in Imo State had been polarized along two factions but since fresh congresses were held in July, Governor Rochas Okorocha backed Nwafor led executives seems to be calling the shots and earns the ears of the National Working Committee of the party
He said aspirants should proceed with their campaigns and must preach the gospel of the party
“As aspirants, you must be the major ambassadors of our great Party. You must know what the government has done and own up its actions and its inactions, because ours is the Party in power. Our Party is a Party of the masses; hence, you must ensure that you are in touch with the masses.” He added.
