The cancellation of votes in Orolu Local Government, Ife South LG, Ife North LG and Osogbo LG resulting to the loss of 3498 votes was the key reason why the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEc declared the governorship election in Osun State inconclusive.

INEC said Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled about 254,698 ahead of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 254,345 votes.

The number of cancelled votes is more than the number of votes the PDP candidate had over the APC candidate which has taken the polls to a re run
