There is wild Jubilation in the camp of Imo State Deputy Governor,Prince Eze Madumere as the Federal High Court, Owerri has declared unconstitutional his purported impeachment.
The Imo State House of Assembly had impeached Madumere on allegations of gross misconduct after he was indicted by 7 man Panel of Inquiry constituted by the Lawmakers on allegations of gross misconduct.
On the day he challenged the matter in Court, the House proceeded on the impeachment.
However another Court Order halted the swearing in of his replacement, the Head of Service, Mr.Calliatus Ekenze.
Madumere was a long time political ally of Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The relationship went sour when Madumere set his sights on succeeding Okorocha in 2019, a move rejected by the Imo State Governor who preferred his son in law and former Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu as his successor.
Madumere aligned with a faction of the APC in Imo State who are opposed to Okorocha. He is expected to take part in the imo APC governorship primaries after making his formal declaration to run for Imo governorship.
