Imo PDP Guber Primaries: Ihedioha, Senator Anyanwu, Others Sign Peace Accord

Governorship aspirantsants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have signed a peace accord ahead of Sunday’s governorship primaries.

Imo State Commissioner of Police,  Dasuki Galadanchi supervised the signing of the accord which took place at the Imo State Police Command, Owerri

The Accord is aimed at ensuring a rancour free primaries coming in the wake of disturbing tension rearing its ugly head in the party.

Among the aspirants sighted at the Police headquarters include a former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha,Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), Senator Athan Achonu represented by his media adviser, Emeka Ihejirika.

A former Commissioner in the State, Prof Jude Njoku who is also in the race was not seen at the event.

Senator Anyanwu assured that he will embrace the outcome of the primaries.

“I m ready to embrace the outcome of the exercise only when a free, fair and transparent exercise is conducted by the electoral officers who are coming from Abuja”

He called on delegates of the party from the 305 INEC wards to cast their votes for him.

In his remarks, Hon.Ihedioha said he is the most qualified and generally accepted by the party delegates, expressing hope that he will emerge the party,’s flagbearer after the primaries.

He expressed his commitment to peace during the exercise.

” I and other guber aspirants have agreed to tow the line of peace. I believe there will be no problems but most times, the problems cone from the supporters” he said.

He appealed to the delegates to be peaceful and remain calm during the primaries on Sunday.
