The Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has opened up on the those likely to emerge victorious at its primaries.
In a statement by FCC Jones Onwusoanya, Publicity Secretary of the party in Imo State, he said those aspirants who have put the people at the centre and whose loyalty to the party and the its constitution will be considered.
He said the party encourage “ those misled into thinking that the mandate of Imo people be negotiated without the involvement of ordinary people to wake up from that slumber and face reality
“The deal to govern or represent Imo people at any level must be struck with the full involvement of ordinary Imo people and we assure Imo people, especially, the ordinary Keke riders, palm-wine tappers, artisans, the youths, market women and indeed, the poorest of the poor, that this Party is for them and everything shall be done by the Party to ensure that only those aspirants who have regard to the ordinary people shall get the Party’s backing to vie for any position” he said
He assured that all aspirants of fairness in the conduct of the upcoming primaries, assuring non party members that party delegates and officials shall not be swayed by any other sentiment in electing its members.
He said the aspirants tested credibility, accessibility and acceptability is the key.
“Imolites are encouraged to discountenance the pretensions of other small and unpopular political Parties, as the APC shall give them candidates they can rely on in all the positions up for election” the statement stated
