As it is often said a true statesman is one that thinks about the next generation but a politician is concerned on how to win the next election.
This mantra could be attributed to Ambassador Bishop Emeka Nwankpa who declared yesterday his intention to represent his people in Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives ahead of 2019 general elections under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA
At the venue of his declaration yesterday, it was a beehive of activities as a mammoth crowd turned up to witness the declaration. This generated good market for traders around the area. People also trooped out massively to hear and support him.
This is a true politician and true statesman, a man of high repute who strongly believes in building ideologies to impact positively into the lives of his people and those that come around him.
Addressing the crowd, Ambassador Bishop Emeka Nwamkpa noted that he has no ulterior motive nor personal intention to run for the House of Representatives. He said he was motivated by the cries of the widows and poor children in Isiala Ngwa North and South who came to him with their placards bearing the inscription “Bishop go and represent us”, “Bishop we need you to save us” etc.
The cries of these children touched him and he sees their voices as the voice of God calling him to go and represent his people in Abuja in order to save and serve the people of Isiala Ngwa South/North Federal Constituency.
Those who witnessed his speech were moved as they described him as a man with the heart of gold, a philanthropist to the core.
Ambassador Bishop Nwankpa is a man who has catered for widows and poor children. He pays them on monthly basis in order to alleviate their plight and untold sufferings.
If he is humble and down to earth on his own, what of when his people give him their support to represent them, which means he will surely do more for them.
The crowd that came out yesterday to witness his declaration and some stakeholders that spoke about him attested to this fact.
Indeed this is a man to reckon with and will be difficult to beat by any other aspirant come 2019.
