*Aspirants Resort To Various Tactics*

“It is A Five Horse Race”- Analyst

Fear of the unknown has gripped some governorship aspirants in the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Imo State as Primaries comes close.

Arrangements to produce a consensus governorship candidate for the party has also failed as some political stunts pulled by some stakeholders in the party to achieve such feat crumbled like a pack of cards.

The Party leadership in the State led by Barr Peter Ezeobi has continuously assured the candidates will emerge through a credible and transparent primaries.

This is coming on the heels of would be delegates who are scrambling to secure forms for the ad hoc delegate election scheduled to hold on Sunday, Sept 23.

The party’s National leadership had extended the submission of forms till Saturday.

This newspaper learnt that some financial  loaded aspirants in the party had sponsored a wide scale purchase of forms for the intending delegates in a bid to brighten their chances at the primaries.

According to a party source, he told this newspaper that new entrants in the party are introducing “foreign and alien” tactics never seen before in APGA all in a bid to win the primaries.

Newspaper reports claimed that one  of the governorship aspirants Augustine Okere  reportedly stepped out of the governorship contest.

However, it was gathered that despite the huge number of guber aspirants, a political analyst, Mr.Sunday Egbufor predicted  te race is a straight battle between five major contenders.

Mr.Egbufo said  It is a five horse race for the guber ticket in APGA.

He said ” Okey Ezeh, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume , former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim. Barr Humphrey Anumudu and Hon.Uche Onyeagocha. Do not under estimate Stanley Amuchie and Daniel Kanu. These are the aspirants in the inner ring”

He continued “However such permutations exist on paper. It is the delegates who will cast their votes at the primaries. They have the final say” he said.
