The Bikers In Nigeria (BIN) has offered free cancer screening to over 40 women in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State as part of its social responsibility.

Mrs Joann Otaru,  National President of the Association disclosed this while interacting with newsmen on the successful completion of it’s three day annual national convention in Abakaliki.

“As part of the association’s social responsibility, it conducted free cancer screening on over 40 women in the town but I cannot reveal the details of the screenings because they are usually confidential”.he said

She noted that such information can only be revealed when the indigent patient cannot foot the bill of the treatment or recommendations by the doctor.

Mrs Otaru who commended Governor Umahi for his developmental strides urged the citizens of Ebonyi to realise the benefits of engaging in night life activities.

She noted that its non-existence in the state was not good for the state’s development.

“The quality infrastructure provided by the government and the beautiful landscape of the city should make the citizens engage in night life as obtained in other developed areas” he said.

Otaru remarked that the good road networks and illuminating lights in the town should make the citizens carry out activities in the
night, to enhance their social status and economic well being.

“The association discovered with dismay that most residents of Abakaliki go to bed by 9.pm and we want to tell them there are more to
life than working eating and sleeping.

She noted that by practising night life, they would reduce the tension occasioned by life’s challenges, familiarize with their surroundings
and enhancing their social and economic status.

“We have to state that contrary to insinuation in the state, we were not invited by the state government to engage in any political activity as we are apolitical.

She noted that the association does not engage in politics when it discovers political undertones in its activity, it withdraws from
such.

The convention which had its theme ” Closer to nature_ nature Games Festival (Gamesfeast) drew participants within Nigeria and West African countries.
