A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State, High Chief Engr. Chuks Ololo has made it clear that his ambition is not a family affair of the Okorochas just as he condemned the actions of the Ahmed Gulak led Imo APC Guber Primary Election commitee for the State.

Ololo is brother in law to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State . He is hubby to Okorocha’s sister and Commissioner of Happiness and Couples Fulfilment, Ogechi.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri on the botched APC governorship primary, Ololo said his aspirations is driven by the fact he has what it takes to serve the State.

He noted that he respects Governor Rochas Okorocha’s decision to support any candidate of his choice, stating that there is no way the Governor could have supported two aspirants for a position.

He however expressed confidence that if a free and fair governorship primary of the APC is held in Imo State, he will emerge victorious because he is the best among those jostling for the ticket of the party.

Ololo who is a Board member of the Federal Institute of Research, Oshodi, FIRO said he is in support of a free and fair primary to enable aspirants showcase their superiority.

He made it clear that there was no guber primary election in the APC in Imo State. He also said it is regrettable that the Ahmed Gulak led Governorship Primary election committee failed to live up to its assignment, stating that the results churned out by the commitee were fake and false.

He described the botched guber primary as an embarrassment to the State and exposed those who do not want a democratic process to run.

He backed the decision by the National Working Commitee, NWC to cancel the exercise for Imo State.

” I had expected the process to be complied with. It is regrettable that such was not carried out” he said

He also stated that if the process of conducting the guber primary election was allowed, it would have given opportunity for party members to choose who will be their candidates. He also said he is in a better position to win the primary if the exercise had been held and conducted in a free and fair environment.

On the possibility of a consensus candidate emerging after the failed guber primary election, Ololo said it is not an option because the Constitution of the APC is very clear on how candidates will emerge from the party.

” The issue of Consensus is not in the APC Constitution. Let the best emerge through the process of electing candidates and I m willing to work for the party

” I have no plans of leaving the APC and if the primary is held today, I will win. I m not afraid” Ololo stated.

He appealed to party members and the people of Imo State to shun hooliganism and continue to embrace peace and the APC.

He said the APC is a progressive party, stating that the party has provided good governance.
