The Residents of Aba in Abia State have expressed total sadness over the ugly incident of Pipeline explosion which claimed lives and injured many along Osisioma axis in Aba, Abia State.
Our correspondent report that the pipeline explosion which occurred on Friday 12th October, 2018 threw Osisioma and its environment into heavy unrest.
Reacting to the incident, Aba residents expressed shock, and blamed Government for not taking proactive measures in dealing with certain issues.
According to Emeka Osundu, “this is real disaster. the whole of Aba is mourning, we mourn with families that lost their loves once, and prayed that the injured will have a quick recovery”.
Mazi Uchendu Amaizu said “ we sympathise with the affected families, and pray that God will give them the heart to bear the lost. I want to say that this occur as result of Government inability to take proactive measures in dealing with certain issues of public important.”
Meanwhile, the Abia State Government has recieved with deep sadness the news of the Osisioma pipeline explosion.
In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for information, Hon. John Okiyi Kalu, the State Government said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the unfortunate incident, their families and friends, as we mourn with them.
“We wish to call on relevant agencies and organizations to thoroughly investigate the remote and immediate causes of the explosion with a view to unravelling the cause and preventing a future occurrence of such unfortunate incident in our State and Nigeria in general.”
“All relevant State agencies, including medical emergency responders, have been mobilized to assist the wounded recover as soon as possible.”
“May the Lord grant the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss and the injured speedy recovery.”
