As candidates are issued INEC forms, the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress, APC has made it clear that it has not issued certificate of return to any of its candidates
The social media has been abuzz with photos showing candidates receiving INEC forms.
APC Acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena was quoted by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN to have said ” No candidate has been given the certificate of return”
He was apparently reacting to reports that Mr.Sani Uba from Kaduna Central had been issued with a certificate of return.
Nabena’s comments has been seen as the true position of the party as regards the issuance of certificate of return to candidates on the party’s platform across the country.
In Imo State, newspaper reports claimed that harmonization of candidates for party tickets is ongoing. This could not be verified by this newspaper.
This is coming on the heels of widespread reports that former Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwous has been handed Imo APC governorship ticket.
Further proof to this emerged when the Imo State APC Chairman, Daniel Madueke was pictured issuing INEC forms to Nwosu.
INEC forms are issued to party candidates just as Senator Hope Uzodinma also claims to be the party’s governorship candidate.
Uzodinma was also seen on the social media with INEC forms.
