2019: UPP Guber Candidate, Nwulu Speaks On Imo Youths Taking Over Governance

As the 2019 governorship election comes close, the Governorship candidate of the United Progressive Party, UPP, in Imo State, Hon Tony Nwulu, has spoken on the need to give youths the opportunity to mount the saddle of leadership.

He also harped on the need for youths to get their acts together, form a united front and prepare for the task of governance as the next dispensation draws very near.

Nwulu who was  guest speaker at the 2018 edition of Leadership Lecture Series organized by the Youth Fellowship of Living Faith Ministries (Winners Chapel) in Owerri, at the weekend, said the past generation had failed and this should be a wake up call for the youths in the State and beyond to rise to take over leadership.

He said “I am challenging our youths against making mistakes this time. Mobilize and get your representatives and stop wasting time. Don’t make the mistake of following those who failed you before; those who are pretending that they have nothing to do with the disaster that has overtaken our State and nation”

The Initiator of the Not Too Young To Run Bill which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, urged youths in politics to run with God and be very conscious of 2023 which provides ample opportunity for the youths to produce the next President of Nigeria.

He said the Youths have stayed at the back bench of Nigerian politics for too long, stating that the time has come for them to rise up and take their rightful place.

For Imo youths, he said its time they put their talents and potentials to use. He explained that the youths will certainly perform better if given the opportunity serve in Government and hold leadership positions.

The Federal Lawmaker who had assured that Imo youths will constitute 80% of his cabinet when elected Governor of Imo State, advised the youths not to follow those who failed them in the past to lead them again.

The highpoint of the event was an award of honour conferred on Nwulu by the Youth Fellowship of Living Faith Ministries (Winners Chapel), Owerri
