The Igbo Youth Assembly, Imo State chapter, has called on the National Working Committee NWC of the All Progressive Congress, APC to urgently submit the name of Air Commodore Peter Gbujie as the governorship candidate of the party for the governorship election 2019 election.
According to them, Air Commodore Peter Gbujie (rtd) won the APC guber primary election legally conducted through direct process and should be allowed to fly the party’s governorship flag
They added that without Gbujie being the party candidate, APC and President Mohammed Buhari will never win any election in Imo state. The IYA described Gbujie as an effective tool for good governance that will liberate Imo people from shackles of poverty, insecurity and hardship.
Speaking at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja leaders of the Youth Assembly in Imo State, Barr Eric Njoku and Mr Sylvester Nwoko, called on the APC to do the right thing by fielding Peter Gbujie as the guber candidate of APC in Imo state “because he is the rightful winner of the primary election”.
They maintained that it is the turn of Owerri Senatorial Zone to produce the next Imo State governor in 2019 as justice and equality demand so that peace and success prevail in Imo APC.
IYC pointed out that Air Commodore Peter Gbujie has spent his “energy, resources and time in the promotion and sustenance of national unity, peace and development”.
They remarked that Peter Gbujie as a “benefactor and Grand Patron of Igbo Youth Assembly, Imo State Chapter, demands that justice and equity be maintained for peace to prevail in Imo State.
“As a matter of urgency and importance, let the rightful winner of Imo APC primary election, Peter Gbujie’s name be submitted to INEC, for only this measure can APC and President Buhari win election in Imo state in 2019”.
They called on youths to continue to rally round Peter Gbujie as he strives to govern Imo to restore its punctured and shattered existence, noting that he has the capacity to govern Imo and lead itd people to the Promised Land
