Former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim has accused the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA of insulting the church and its leadership in Imo State.

Ohakim said APGA has been converted to a “trading port” by fraudsters who paraded as party leaders.

The former Imo State Governor is among 12 governorship aspirants who expressed dissatisfaction on the manner APGA held its governorship primary.

He is also among the aspirants who floated the “New APGA” in Imo State which read a riot act to the party leadership to refund all monies it collected from aspirants.

According to a statement signed by his media aide, Collins Ughalla, Ohakim said he is still pondering on his next political move as he takes stock of the situation.

“It is important to note that what these fraudulent APGA leaders had done in Imo is not only an insult on Ikedi Ohakim alone but also on all APGA aspirants, the Church in Imo and its leadership, the APGA leadership at all levels in Imo State as well as Ndi Igbo in general” the statement stated.

He called on his supporters to remain calm.

Ohakim’s statement reads in part  “While requesting his supporters to remain calm he said that his dream of fixing the broken down Imo vehicle and recovering the state from the locusts remains unwavering and that in a very short time he will address them and Ndi Imo in general on his next move.

“He thanks his teaming followers and all Imo sons and daughters for their continued faith in him and on his four cardinal programmes of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Recovery (4Rs), even in this daunting days of monumental fraud and brazen violation of the rights of people especially APGA members.
