*Plans To Strip Okey Ezeh Of Guber Ticket Uncovered*
There is tension in Imo State chapter of the Social Democratic Party, SDP over the party’s governorship ticket.
With Chief Okey Ezeh clinching the ticket, a source revealed to this newspaper of plans by some forces outside the party to cause confusion aimed at stripping Mr. Ezeh of the governorship ticket.
One of the aspirants and some forces within the party is said to have been influenced by another governorship candidate of another political to cause disaffection in the SDP aimed at stripping Okey Ezeh of the governorship ticket.
Okey Ezeh was formerly of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA but lost out alongside 11 others when the APGA leadership at the State and national levels failed to hold primaries and in the long run, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume picked the guber ticket.
A source in Okey Ezeh camp confirmed this development of attempts to strip their principal of the party guber ticket but refused to give further details.
The contention is that having built a solid political structure with vast followers, picking the guber ticket in SDP may injure the political hopes of another governorship candidate in another political party since they both come from the same sub zone in Owerri zone.
This newspaper had observed that the SDP became a beautiful bride in Imo politics after some governorship aspirants had dumped the cock party.
The State Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Mr. Chilos Godsent had revealed last month that three governorship aspirants had approached the party.
Another post on social media at the weekend had also claimed that some APC chieftains who may have lost out in the scramble for party tickets may also pitch tenth with the SDP. This could not be verified by this newspaper.
