Fear has gripped candidates in the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC publish list of candidates.
Worst hit are House of Assembly candidates in the party. A list had surfaced online yesterday showing a list of House of Assembly candidates which favoured the Imo APC Coalition and completely excluded present House members who had emerged as candidates after primaries.
This had sent frenzy and panic in the party yesterday.
Okorocha’s preferred candidate, Uche Nwosu had last week lost the APC governorship ticket to Senator Hope Uzodinma which got things turning around in the party.
There was no independent verification of the list for Assembly candidatesas an official list from INEC is awaited.
However, this newspaper gathered that only the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole has the right the substitute any candidate just as available reports indicate that the National Chairman is out of the country after his alleged arrest by the DSS.
Reports say that House of Assembly candidates who emerged from the October 6. 2018 primaries conducted by Brigadier General Ibrahim Agbabiaka had approached the Federal High Court in Owerri where they sought and go an order restraining the APC and INEC from substituting their names as candidates of the party.
