*Reinstated Lawmakers Plan Fresh Offensive*

*Speaker Threatens To Declare Their Seats Vacant*

There is heightening tension in the Imo State House of Assembly after an Owerri High Court reinstated four members of the Assembly suspended by the leadership of the House.

Upon their reinstatement, they moved for their pound flesh having stormed the House last Wednesday. Reports said they were after the impeachment of the leadership of the House which will pave the way for the impeachment of the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

The reinstated lawmakers are said to be loyal to the State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere who is a political foe of the State Governor.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Marcel Ekwezuo, he accused the reinstated lawmakers of storming the Assembly complex  with stern looking and dare- devil thugs who threatened to burn down the complex before next sitting of the Imo State House of Assembly.

Analysts interpret the move of the reinstated lawmakers as seeking their pound of flesh over their suspension and move after those who aided their suspension in the first place.

After narrowly escaping the wrath of the aggrieved lawmakers, the Speaker, Rt Hon Acho Ihim is said to have threatened to declare their seats vacant.

The drama in the House is coming as the battle for the soul of the Imo State APC continues to take a frightening dimension between the Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Rescue Mission camp popularly called ” Agburu” and the Imo APC Coalition.

The Speaker in his latest offensive said the erring lawmakers risk another suspension and losing their seats on the grounds that they have decamped to other political parties.

The Speaker’s Statement reads ”

“Hon. Nkenna Nzeruo’s letter to the House, intimating her of his decision to decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was read on floor of the house on September 18, 2018; yet his second letter for a decision to decamp back to the ruling APC from the PDP is yet to be read on the floor of the house before his planned brouhaha orchestration.

“It could be recalled that Hon. Chiji Collins and Hon. Donatus Onuigwe had before now emerged as flag bearers and candidates of the opposition APGA in their various state constituencies without intimating the house or the APC Imo State of their intention to decamp to another party.

“The erring members are bound to lose their seats should speaker of the house, Rt Hon (Dr) Acho Ihim instructs the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to declare their seats vacant as it is provided for in law.

This newspaper gathered that the lawmakers may not rest on their oars as more fireworks are expected when the House reconvenes.
