Madumere Reveals How Okorocha Shunned Him As Imo Dep. Gov

The bitter war between two erstwhile political friends , Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere continued at the funeral of the mother of former National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Senator Osita Izunaso.

A revelation of what transpired between the duo was revealed by the Deputy Governor, Madumere in a statement signed his Chief Press Secretary, Uche Onwuchekwa.

Madumere had alleged that Okorocha refused to acknowledge him as the Deputy Governor of the State and rather announced Callistus Ekenze, as Deputy Governor designate.

Madumere had narrowly escaped impeachment by the Imo State House Assembly; a plot Madumere alleged was masterminded by the Governor.

The basis for the rift was the governorship ambition of Madumere. Okorocha had preferred his son in law, Uche Nwosu for the APC governorship ticket and to be his successor.

According to the statement, Madumere said he has continued to stomach ceaseless and unmitigated provocations from Governor Okorocha.

Part of the statement reads “Yesterday during the funeral service of late Mama Florence Izunaso, the mother of Senator Osita Izunaso, which was a communion among Christians to pay the deserved respect to Senator Osita Izunaso’s lovely mother, but unfortunately it presented a regrettable show of shame where Governor Okorocha refused to recognize the incumbent Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere MFR but recognised his puppet, Mr. Calistus Ekenze as Deputy Governor designate.

Madumere said he never took offence of such neglect but expressed worry about the act of the Governor which he described as uncivilized at an event witnessed by galaxy of leaders from various walks of life from different parts of the country
