Confirming our story on Wednesday that 22 members of the Imo State House of Assembly will soon cross over to the Action Alliance, 17 members of the House of the APC extraction and 2 PDP members have joined the Action Alliance, AA. In all, 19 lawmakers have crossed over to the AA.
Governor Rochas Okorocha son in law and former Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu had decamped to the AA after losing the APC governorship ticket.
The lawmakers who defected to the AA include the Speaker, Acho Ihim, Majority Leader, Hon. Lugard Osuji, Chief Whip and the Minority Whip.
PDP lawmakers who defected include Hon.Ken Agbim, Bruno Iwuoha and Mike Iheaneatu. Those who left from the APC include Ikechukwu Amuka, Authur Egwim, Uju Onwudiwe, Uche Ejiogu, Ngozi Obiefule, Lugard Osuji, Lloyd Chukwuemeka and Victor Onyewuchi, Chinedu Offor, Kennedy Ibe, Lawman Duruji, Max Odunze, Henry Ezediaro, and Obinna Egu.
Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Lugard Osuji said the lawmakers would team up with the AA governorship candidate in the state, Uche Nwosu, to win the governorship election and ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari wins reelection.
In a statement, the Action Alliance, AA governorship candidate, Uche Nwosu, thanked them especially for not turning their back on President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid as a result of the injustice meted out to them in the All Progressives Congress.
