Tony Nwulu’s Mezie Imo Flag Off Empowerment Programme

The United Progressive Party, UPP in Imo State has said it is battle ready to win the 2019 governorship election.

Chairman of the party in Imo State, Mr.Innocent Eke, made this disclosure while speaking to newsmen in Owerri.

He said the party is not relenting on its oars vowing that it’s governorship candidate, Hon.Tony Nwulu remains the best among the lot scrambling to be Governor of the State.

This is coming on the heels of the resolve of Mezie Imo movement, the vast political structure of UPP Governorship candidate, Hon.Tony Nwulu, to embark on an empowerment programme for petty traders across the State.

Nwulu had recently offset the bills of some indigent patient in some hospitals in the State.

Speaking on the empowerment programme, Director General, Mezie Imo Movement, Mr.Kelechi Chukwu said the programme is not “a campaign strategy but a commitment on the part of Mezie Imo which Hon Nwulu represents to give support to those who are in dire need of it”

He said the empowerment programme will be for market women across the 27 local governments in the State.

“This is just an example of the priority Hon.Nwulu will give to human development and empowerment when he is elected the Governor of Imo State in 2019

“What we are doing now is just a tip of the iceberg and a practical demonstration of our commitment to enhance the welfare of the people who have undergone tremendous hardship in our dear State

He said aside market women, artisans will also benefit from the programme.

“We shall embark on a tour to some markets in the 27 local governments in the State where we shall dole out some financial assistance to those petty traders mostly market women to help them improve and boost their businesses” he said.
