The Confederation of African Football, CAF, executive committee has disclosed that they will hold a meeting on January 9 to choose new hosts for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, after stripping Cameroon of hosting right, CSN reports.

The continental body stripped Cameroon of the hosting right because of concerns about the country’s security and infrastructure.

CAF is in search of a new venue for the tournament and countries have until 14 December by 2200GMT to submit official bids to host the 24-team tournament.

The 2019 AFCON will start in June next year.
