The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has dismissed claims he would be a stooge to anyone when he emerges as governor in 2019, explaining that he recognizes that the only people who can make him governor are God Almighty and majority of Imo people.

According to a statement by FCC Onwuosanya Jones, Nwosu’s Director Of Media and Publicity,  he said  Now”I am a product of God’s grace and my political aspiration is being primarily propelled by Imo people. I am not in this race to serve the interest of any group of people, but the interest of all people of Imo State. I believe that becoming the governor of Imo State gives me a greater opportunity to serve God by staying faithful to the promises I have made to the people.”

Nwosu stated this while interacting with leaders of more than 70 independent support groups who visited his campaign office in Owerri to share ideas with the Campaign Council on how to ensure effective voters mobilization across the 305 wards in the State.

The Director-general of the Campaign Organization, High Chief Chidi Ibeh MFR had earlier briefed the leaders of these support groups that the major focus of the Campaign Organization is to sustain and improve on the massive grassroots support base of the Rescue Mission by constantly engaging with the masses.

Chidi Ibeh stated that the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Organization does not have any plans of manipulating the election or winning through any other means that is not by the people’s support.

In his words; “Our campaign is entirely hinged on the people. Our options A, B, C and D are wholly dependent on the people. We already have the people on our side, but we will have to sustain this support through regular interface with the people of Imo State. Our campaign policy is that the people own State power and they decide whom to give it to. On our part, we will ensure that whatever votes given to us by the people is protected. Nobody will come to Imo State to forge results and expect to get away with it.”

Speaking on behalf of the Support groups, the leader of Ugwumba Movement, Hon. MacAnthony   assured that the groups shall work together to ensure victory for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu in the coming election. He declared that henceforth, the leaders and members of the groups shall retire to their various communities to begin aggressive mobilization for the election.
