As the 2019 governorship election comes close, the political dynamics in Imo State has continued to change.

This newspaper had reported last week that some political political parties are working out modalities to form a rainbow coalition.

It was gathered yesterday that more than six political parties are involved in the plot just as reports indicate that a breakaway faction in the Imo State chapter of the PDP may join the Coalition.

Those spearheading the move are said to be governorship aspirants who lost out in the major political parties in the State and later picked the governorship tickets of other parties.

Reports on the social media stated that a former Governor, a serving Senator who lost the governorship ticket of his party and a member of the House of Representatives who is currently a governorship candidate of one of the political parties are involved in the coalition arrangement.

A source told this newspaper that in a matter of days the Coalition will be announced.

“ We are crossing the t’s and dotting the I’s involved. It will be a major force as the 2019 governorship election draws near. It will also be a counter force to the candidates of the so called big four political parties namely the All Progressive Congress, APC,the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and lately the Action Alliance, AA.

The political situation in Imo State has been adjudged to have an unstable political climate which makes the2019 governorship election very  unpredictable.
