Imo State University, Owerri Alumni Association, has inaugurated its 5th National Executive Council with Prince Ferdinand Ezeala Akano succeeding Enyioha Chris A.E Anyanwu who was President for two years.

 Inaugurating the new executive, Chairman of the event, Barr Kenneth Udeze Obidiche, represented by Barr Okwy Ukaga who is Secretary of the BOT, charged them to always strive, work hard to uphold, respect the laws of the Alumni to achieve more success, expressing excitement on the success of the alumni and believes that with them being united, more gold would be gained, spurring members for selfless service.

Handing over documents to the new President, outgoing President, Enyioha Chris Anyanwu, urged him to work cordially with the entire exco to advance the association, saying membership would be driven via rationality, efficiency and sincerity.

Thanking God for strengthening the alumni association, as well as prospering her, the newly sworn-in National President of IMSU Alumni Association, Prince Ferdinand Ezeala Akano, assured of their sterling performance to sustain the association, appealing for the continued support of the alumni.

Prince Akano reminded that the alumni association is a “development partner and critical stakeholder in the development of Imo State through partnership with the Imo state University, Imo state government,  organized private sector , media, students, civil society organizations…

He continued “The association recognizes the compelling need to identify with the dynamics of contemporary development exigencies and hence move with the tide towards developing our members’ capacities to contribute to building the society”.

Commending the IMSU Alumni Association for achieving success having come together, IMSU VC, Prof Mrs Adaobi Obasi, Special Guest of Honour, represented by Dean of Students Affairs, Prof Martin Nwankwo, said IMSU has concluded plans to open hostel accommodation for the students by 2019.

He said ” We are going to go digital. Results and records will be transmitted digitally for IMSU is positively changing, IMSU will open hostel for both her  male and female students”

The alumni association says it will not relent in contributing to the development of its Alma Mater to help achieve their good dreams.
