*Party Entangled With Suspension, Counter Suspension Of Party Chieftains*
There is political cross fire in Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Fresh trouble began when the media reported that the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, five others namely Hon Chike Okafor, Hon Ralpheal Nnanna Igbokwe, Emma Ojinere and Hon. Obinna Mbata were summoned to a Disciplinary committee over alleged anti party activities.
News later surfaced that they have been suspended.
One of those invited to face the commitee who spoke to this newspaper on condition of anonymity said he never received an official invitation as he only read the news of the invitation on the social media.
However more drama continued when a letter alleged to have been signed by the party’s Chairman in Mbaitoli Local Government suspended Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo from the party.
Nlemigbo and co were last month inaugurated by the National Working Committee, NWC of the party led by Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
The ongoing drama in the party in the State intensified after the APC rally for women and youths held at the Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri which was attended by wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osibanho who represented wife of the President, Aisha Buhari.
At the rally, there was a clash between supporters of Governor Rochas Okorocha son in law and former Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, who is the Action Alliance, AA governorship candidate and Senator Hope Uzodinma, the All Progressive Congress, APC governorship candidate.
There has been a bitter war between both camps after Nwosu, Okorocha’s preferred governorship candidate lost the APC ticket to Senator Hope Uzodinma.
