Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, at the Party’s ongoing nationwide rally in Owerri yesterday threw caution to the wind and engaged in political drama as they disagreed on the APC governorship candidate in Imo State.

Director General of Buhari’s campaign, Rotimi Amaeachi set the stage for the fireworks when he called on Oshiomole to step up to the podium and tell the people of Imo State that Senator Hope Uzodinma is the governorship candidate of the party. This elicited thunderous ovation from the crowd.

Governor Rochas Okorocha said the State party chairman of the party remains Dan Nwafor and the right people to speak at the rally are not the authentic party chieftains. He recalled that he is the founder of the APC in Imo State.

He said”I founded APC in the South East. I am the only APC Governor in the South East. A robbery of peoples mandate took place in the APC. APC leaders should do the right thing”

National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole said the APC is not in alliance with any political party in the State. He said the party has the capacity to deliver its candidates in Imo, ostensibly reacting to claims of one million votes for Buhari by the Action Alliance, AA, a party Okorocha’s son in law, Uche Nwosu is the governorship candidate.

He reaffirmed that Senator Hope Uzodinma is the party’s governorship candidate assuring that hope will be restored in the State when Uzodinma emerges Governor.

He said “Our candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma will bring hope to the people of Imo State. He will bring hope to the pensioners and workers in the State.

Okorocha and Oshiomole has been at cross roads since the APC governorship ticket was handed to Uzodinma. Okorocha had preferred Uche Nwosu.

Buhari in his speech called on voters in Imo State to vote for candidates of their choice across party lines.
